Google Calendar — checking availability and writing the event

Connect Google Calendar and Tokiawase checks your availability and writes the confirmed event for you. A Google Meet URL can be created at the same time.

What the connection gives you

Two things happen automatically once connected. Times where you already have something booked are excluded when a booking link offers slots, and the confirmed event is written into your calendar.

That removes the need to compare calendars by hand or to copy an agreed time across afterwards.

Connecting

Choose Google Calendar under integrations in settings and approve the Google consent screen. You can pick which calendars to use.

Connections are per person. Nobody else calendar is read on your behalf.

Creating a Google Meet URL

Set Google Meet as the meeting method and a Meet URL is created the moment a time is confirmed. It is included in the confirmation and in the calendar entry, so people can join straight from either.

How your calendar data is used

What is read depends on the purpose.

When slots for a booking link are calculated, only whether a period is free or busy is used. Titles, attendees, and locations are not.

Event titles are read in one case only: when you open a preview of your own booking type, so that you can check your own calendar on your own screen.

People opening your booking link see open slots and nothing else. Titles and contents of the events blocking a period are never passed to them — all they learn is that a period cannot be chosen.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect from the settings screen. After that, availability is no longer checked and events are no longer written.

Events already written to your calendar remain. Tokiawase does not remove them; delete them in your calendar if you no longer want them.

Once disconnected, a booking link offers the hours you configured as they are, including periods where you are busy. Review those hours if that matters.
