The four scheduling methods compared
Comparing the four methods available once you have an account, by who proposes the times, who the other side is, and what has to be set up first.
- Compared with
- Poll / Booking link / Group booking link / Team availability
- Comparison terms and disclosure
- A comparison between features of our own service. No third-party services are compared.
How they differ
With a poll, you propose the times, the other side is a fixed set of participants, and nothing needs setting up first.
With a booking link or a group booking link, the times are generated for you, the other side is open-ended, and you have to define your available hours first.
Team availability also generates the times for you, but the other side is your own team, and a connected meeting tool is required.
Poll
You list candidate times and participants answer yes, maybe, or no. Because nothing has to be prepared first, this is the easiest method to reach for on a one-off basis.
Booking link
You publish your available hours and let people pick a slot, so you never trade messages about it. With a calendar connected, times you are already busy drop out automatically.
Group booking link
One link covering several hosts. You choose whether every host must be free, or whether any one of them is enough.
Note that this is about sharing a public intake between people. It is a different thing from the group feature listed under the plans.
Team availability
Compares your team members calendars and surfaces only the times when everyone is free. This is the one method that requires a connected meeting tool; without it you cannot create the session at all.
Confirmation works the same everywhere
Whichever method you used, confirming sends the details to you and to the participants and schedules reminders before the start. The confirmation carries a calendar file you can import.
The automatic meeting URL only works with a meeting tool connected. Choosing it while nothing is connected means the confirmation email is not sent at all — set the meeting method to none if you do not need a meeting URL.
Choosing quickly
If you would rather not sign up, use Quick schedule. If the other person is one of many, use a booking link, or a group booking link when several people share the duty.
If the participants are fixed and you have candidates, run a poll. If there are many participants and your meeting tool is connected, use team availability.
